Isle of Hope Tour: Join us for a relaxed exploration of the rivers and creeks that wind through these sheltered, gorgeous and largely undeveloped marshlands! Across the river is Skidaway Island State Park and south for some 800 acres is Wormsloe State Historic Site.
We commonly see dolphin, a wide variety of wading birds, perhaps eagles, osprey, or even a sea turtle.
We leave from Isle of Hope, about 20 minutes from downtown. This historic area along the Skidaway River is lined with antebellum homes and moss-draped live oaks.
3 hours, $65 per person.
Ebenezer Creek tour: One of our favorite paddles is Ebenezer Creek, a blackwater creek tributary of the Savannah River about 35 minutes from downtown.
Here ancient dwarf bald cypress with huge buttresses tower over highly reflective water and typical wildlife might include pileated woodpeckers, red-shouldered hawks, barred owls, many varieties of songbirds - and perhaps a gator. The current is very mild and the trees offer sunshade and windbreak. If the water is high, a paddle among the old-growth tupelo forest is a special treat.
We offer pickup and transportation from downtown hotels for an additional fee.
3 hours, $170 1-2, $75 ea add'l person.
Isle of Hope Sunrise or Sunset Tour: Early and late the water and the sky turn extraordinary and the summer heat cools off.
Leaving from Isle of Hope, we explore the Skidaway River and cut into marsh creeks that wind through the marsh. Depending on tides and the interests of your group, we can explore smaller creeks along the way. Lower tides limit where we can go a bit, but offer many chances to observe egrets and herons hunting on the mudflats and listen to the oysters "pop". On extreme tides we can paddle straight through the marsh!
3 hours, $65 each.
Full Day Custom Tours:

We can also create a custom, guided, full day 8-12 mile trip for you or your private group and have several NDK performance boats to loan. If you're interested in a week-long adventure exploring the Georgia low country marshes and islands, take a look at Cross Currents Sea Kayaking's current courses. We're happy to be collaborating with them for two trips in October 2020.
The protected waterways and marshes of the Georgia coast offer many beautiful and interesting areas to navigate by kayak. We tailor all trips to the interests and pace of your group and can easily make the paddling more or less challenging. We welcome kids of all ages & have life jackets to fit. Under 40 lbs can ride in a tandem "jump seat" between 2 adults at no charge. Older kids up to 14 do well in a tandem with an adult in back.
We can accommodate groups of up to 20 in solo and tandem kayaks and offer a 10% discount to groups over 10 people.
All tours include a guide, kayaks, paddles, life jackets, and water bag for storage. We recommend that you wear layers of drip-dry clothing and sturdy water sandals or old tennis shoes - no flip flops. We have limited sizes for loan. Let us know if you need to borrow sun hats, fleece/nylon/neoprene pants or jackets.
